Embassy of nigeria celebrates nigeria's 53rd independence anniversary

On 1st October, 2013, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Madrid, celebrated the 53rd Independence of Nigeria at the prestigious Hotel Intercontinental, Madrid. The Independence Day ceremony was the first to be celebrated by Her Excellency, Mrs. Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, since assumption of duty as Nigeria's principal representative to the Kingdom of Spain.It will be recalled that Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu assumed duties after the presentation of Her Letters of Credence to his Majesty, Juan Carlos 1, King of Spain on 9th October, 2012.The Independence Day ceremony was attended by senior government officials from the Kingdom of Spain, members of the Diplomatic Community, Spanish Businessmen, friends of the Embassy and members of the Nigerian Community in Spain. The highlight of the day wasthe speech by the Ambassador. There were several Nigerian cultural dances and displays to lighten the event. The anniversary was a huge success.
